review: *new* Frosted Mini-Wheats -- Cinnamon Roll

 (How I imagine the conversation going at Kellogg's R & D):

-- What should we stuff in our Mini-Wheats this year? We've done Mixed Berry, Raisin, peach/apple...

-- What about Cinnamon Roll?

-- Didn't we already do that in Little Bites?

--Yes, but this time we'll stuff it inside.

-- Ohhhh.


I have to give them credit--as soon as I opened the bag I was hit with a robust cinnamon scent. Didn't even have to stick my nose in to sniff. The disappointment came in the tasting, where the cinnamon was overpowered by the sweet frosting. Remember when they made those Mini-Wheats with the yogurt drizzle? That's what was needed here.

fun on a bun...

Technically, the bun is optional but I just have to recommend these Spice-Rubbed Chicken Breasts.  I thought it sounded like a different kind of chicken sandwich for me and I'd never made a rub before. I have plenty of recipes but none which triggered an immediate response of, "I must try this." Also, I'd never purchased cumin before. It smells like the primary ingredient in a packet of taco seasoning, so you can see why it would need to be balanced out with brown sugar. Actually, all of the spices work well together, even the little tang of thyme. I think I'll be trying it on salmon next.
